Technical Training Program

Technical Training at the Middle East Industrial Training Institute is designed to provide training for personnel involved with welding support groups. Those who need a practical working knowledge of welding – such as engineering, quality control and managerial personnel – will find these one and two weeks courses very beneficial. These courses are combined of practical process and theory.
2 WEEKS
Course Code: CWI 130
Start Date: (See Schedule)

The certification for the American Welding Society Welding Inspector has become increasingly important today. Companies involved in bridges, power plants, refineries, construction, ship building, pipelines and more are requiring certification for their inspectors and educators to fulfill employment qualifications. This two- week course is designed to prepare students to take the AWS CWI exam. Throughout the course, you will be using the same tool kits and weld replicas similar to the test kits for the hands-on portion of the AWS exam. Required AWS standard course materials are being provided meeting the AWS QC1, Standard for AWS Certification of Welding Inspectors. Immediately after seminar completion, MEITI as an Accredited AWS International Agent, will organize CWI Examination for the student. However, it is the responsibility of the participant to file his/her application with complete attached documentations at least one month before the exam date. All applications are subjected for review and approval prior to sit for the exam by the Qualification and Certification Department of the American Welding Society.

Course content:

210 CLOCK HOURS
Course Date: (See Schedule)

This program is designed to give Trainee a thorough understanding on welding fabrication theory and practices, welding technology, welding fabrication drawings and blueprints. This course is a great tool for participants to gain key concepts of the duties and responsibilities of Welding Fabricator. Trainees will gain key concepts on the practices for interpreting engineering drawings, preparing bill of materials, metal forming, cutting, welding, layout and fit-up, and to apply mathematics, basic equations and charts for properly fabrication of joint connections.

Fabrication project will be made at the end of the program in accordance with appropriate fabrication and quality control procedure including performance of written examination. Welding Supervisors, Fabricators, Fitters, Experienced Welders and anyone who involves in Fabrication, Steel Construction or Welding Operations can benefit from this course.

Upon completion of the program, the trainee will have the skills and knowledge in understanding the information contained on fabrication drawings and blueprints, set-up of welding equipment and tools and perform basic welding practices and tack welds. He will also be able to perform hands- on layout and fit-up of different joints in branch connections, laterals, circumferential sleeves and others plus selection and use appropriate tools and to apply mathematical operations, basic equations, tables and charts for properly fabricating these connections.
